So after searching high and low for a specialist in my area this is what I've come to.
If your reading this then your probably in the same shoes I was not too long ago. For me it was a fire red 1976 Corvette that I had just acquired that was in dire need of a new convertible top. For you maybe a Mustang or Mitsubishi. Regardless of the type of car though, we also had something else in common, the need to get it a new top and quick. Well after searching high and low for someone to replace mine, I quickly realized that I may have bitten off more than I can chew this time. Luckily I found someone that could handle it and for a reasonable price as well. The folks down at Rayco Upholstery got my baby back up to pristine quality in no time flat. Anyways, the troubles I've been through you would not believe. From one shop trying to charge me over $3,000 AND make me wait a week. Another guy from the phonebook (I actually think it may have been just the one guy) actually came out to give me a quote but said that he could not get to it for a week, which was fine, but to schedule it he needed to be paid in advance for the house call which was another hundred bucks. I did not want to hand over a hundred dollars to someone I had just met on the promise that they would schedule me for next week and not receive any type of documentation. Not a receipt, proposal, nothing. Too sketchy for my blood. Then a co worker of mine recommend that I go to Rayco upholstery, right next to the meat market on Central and 31st Street. Man I'm glad he did. These pros where to able to get my convertible top done in a day and half and they had the best price of anyone that I had been quoted by. On top of that they had an enormous facility compared to every where else I looked except one place. They also had really friendly people working for them which made the whole process easier for me. All in all I'm really glad I called these guys and will surely go back to them for any other automotive upholstery or restoration work from now.
P.S. Thanks for reading
P.P.S In case your wondering I started this blog for the company because I noticed that they did not have a website and maybe this way other people like me can find them. If I have helped at least just one person with this article then I can rest happy.
